An educative skit on Vaping which can be enacted in School and other institutions.

Setting:
Living room
Scene:
(S enters the living room, vaping)
F: (shocked) What are you doing, son?
S: (surprised) Oh, hey Dad. I’m just vaping.
F: (concerned) You know vaping is dangerous, right? It’s not just water vapor. It contains harmful chemicals and nicotine.
S: (defensive) But everyone’s doing it. It’s not a big deal.
F: (firmly) It is a big deal. Let me show you some scientific evidence. (F takes out his laptop and pulls up a research article on the harms of vaping). According to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, vaping can increase the risk of heart disease, lung disease, and stroke.
S: (uncertain) I didn’t know that.
F: (explaining) Vaping devices heat up a liquid, which turns into an aerosol that is inhaled into the lungs. The aerosol contains harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde, acrolein, and benzene, which can cause long-term damage to your respiratory system.
S: (skeptical) But I don’t smoke cigarettes. Isn’t vaping better than smoking?
F: (challenging) That’s a common misconception, but it’s not true. Vaping still exposes you to nicotine, which is a highly addictive substance that can harm your brain development and increase your risk of addiction to other drugs.
S: (reflective) I see your point, Dad. I don’t want to put myself at risk. I’ll quit vaping and find other ways to fit in with my peers.
F: (emphasizing) That’s the right decision, son. It takes courage to go against the crowd, but your health and well-being are worth it. Let’s work together to find healthier ways for you to socialize and connect with your friends.
(S nods and puts away the vaping device) Father hugs his son and offers Shukr to Allah and continues …
F : May Allah Bless you. You are an understanding son. Alhamdolillah ! I feel blessed.
Now that you are convinced that Vaping is harmful to health, my dear son can you try and convince those of your friends to have played into the wily hands of shaitan.
S : Will I be able to convince them, will they listen ?
F: Give your best try son. You never know, at least you will receive sawab of helping your friends become aware and that is the first step.
S : Ok Abba. Let me see how best I can convince them. Pray for me.
